YOU SAY “WAKANDA FOREVER”, I SAY “UMUNOHA FOREVER”

Standing at the village Square, dressed in my dazzling African contemporary gear, happy as can be, what do I see, but a beautiful self-sufficient Community! The air about this place is right, and the environment is so clean and beautiful; the trees sway towards you as though it’s smiling you a warm welcome!

The square is full of children playing and laughing, on other side I can hear the youth playing basketball, both boys and girls are on each team, as I looked up to see. These young people are so sure of themselves as I am sure I belonged there!

The street lights work, as cars, stop and go obeying the traffic lights like in a city of Washington DC! The names on the street signs sound familiar, and from where I stood, the sign reads, “Afoawo” Square, another street sign pointing from the square on both sides’ spells “Nnoha” Boulevard in Bold large white print on the large blue plate, with a smaller print on same sign saying, “Old Orieamaigwe way”. Everyone I see is well dressed in some bold, bright and colorful African fabric. Their skins are polished and shiny black, as though there are no problems or sufferings of any sort in this Community!

Do I know this place? I wondered as the bus pulls off, I can read the sign which lists the stops, and connections to other transportation, but all the names were named after the patriarchs and founding fathers of my Community, I wondered how this could be.

All of a sudden, I remembered Black Panther Plot. Thousands of years ago. five African tribes war over a meteorite containing vibranium. One warrior ingests a “heart-shaped herb” affected by the metal and gained superhuman abilities, becoming the first “Black Panther”. He unites all but the Jabari Tribe to form the nation of Wakanda, a beautiful self-sufficient wealthy African Nation. And so, I thought this is Wakanda Village of Africa, but as soon as I screamed out loud, “Wakanda forever”, some young children started running towards me, chanting “Umunoha forever”, ‘Umunoha forever”, and then I woke up.

This was a dream, wow!

Wakanda existed in movies, but Umunoha is my home in Nigeria West Africa, where I was born and raised.

This place called Umunoha, will one day by God’s grace be beautiful, affluent and self-sufficient Community I saw in the dream! I was there, it felt real, and God will use me and you to restore this Community into that vision He showed me in the dream, Amen!

In Act 2:1, God said, “In the last days, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams” (Act 2:1).  Amen!

This was definitely no ordinary dream, indeed!

And what does the scriptures say about poor communities like Umunoha?

“There need be no poor amongst you, for in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you, if only you fully obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow all these commands I am given you today” – (Deuteronomy 15:4-5). Amen!

Our God is a loving and Faithful Father, and may His special favors be upon you and yours.
